Rhythm 401 Review
Rhythm releases their new Rhythm 401 App, packed full of everything a 4-way jumper would ever wish to know...
November 16th was a day of friendship, of community, of giving back, of sharing a passion; it was the day of the first Sky Family Fund fundraiser.
Hosted by Skydive Empuriabrava and Windoor-Realfly, the event’s objective was to generate awareness and funds for Care-All and the Sky Family Fund. We are happy to say that thanks to everyone’s participation and contributions, both things were achieved.
The fund raising event was centered around a raffle with prizes donated by the biggest names in the industry: 8+ hours of tunnel time, 28+ hours of tunnel coaching , 9 days of sky coaching (one with jumps included at Skydive Perris), 2 days of skydive photo/video session, 3 suits, a pair of swoop pants and a custom design, 2 canopy courses, 2 tandem skydives, 5 sport skydiving tickets , 1 helmet, 5 camera mounts, apparel and life experiences, including a weekend for 12 people in Jokke Sommer 's chalet in the Alps.
But that’s not all that was donated: 20 of the world’s top flyers donated a whole day of their time to participate in the event and to help Care-All start building content. The only rule? Only two ways, and what two ways: Aldo Comas, Julian Barthel, Filip Hovorka, Raphael Coudray, Mickael Lamy, Stephane Fardel, JuanMa Ruiz, Federico Rawa, David Nimmo, Nigel Holland, Alex Gonzales, David Garcia, Gregor Van Den Eyden, Richie Pim, Cesar Rico Garcia, Dani Gallego, Dani Roman, Ale Daniel, Rogerio “Ipiranga” Fleury and Will Penny. There are always exceptions to the rules though so the day of jumping ended with a big way to celebrate the Sky Family Fund.
As the evening approached everyone moved to Windoor-Realfly where things got into action with the scrambles: 8 teams, a mix of world champions, world record holders and rookies, some pretty competitive moments and lots of laughs.
It was then time for the prize draw: more than 50 blue balls, each corresponding to a prize were released into the flight chamber. Under the awed gaze of the 14 kids from “Centre Obert de Santa Eugènia Infantil” to whom Care-All donated 30 mn of flying, Spiderman (Robby Van Hulsen) and Power Ranger (Carlos Herrera Ortega) drew the prizes.
Finally, the kids got their first taste of flight and judging by their smiles, loved every minute of it. As the little ones, loaded with gifts donated by many of the people present, made their way home on the bus whose services and costs were also donated, the rest of the crew moved the La Farigola where some amazing fish was waiting for us. A speech by Richie Pym, lots of laughter, great food and the perfect conclusion to a day that was meant to be just like this: laughter, sharing, love, giving, cooperation; being the change.
We are touched by everyone’s participation, without every single one of the people involved, this would never have been possible. We sold 621 tickets, raised 12’420 euro, made 14 kids very happy and once again showed the power of this community.
Thank you to our main partners Skydive Empuriabrava and Windoor-Realfly for your huge support.
