What's it like, flying in the WS tunnel?
iFLY Virginia Beach is hosting an IBA Indoor Skydiving Competition April 22-23rd. Open to any and all competitors, this competition will be the biggest and best meet of 2017. What’s more, podium finishers are awarded the chance to represent the United States at the 2017 FAI World Championships in Montreal.
Competitors will be attending from all over the world, including Australia, Canada, and Mexico, to practice competing against their fiercest opponents.
FS 4-way: Rookie, A, Intermediate (AA), Advanced (AAA), Open (AAA)
VFS 2-way: Rookie, Intermediate, Advanced, Open
VFS 4-way: Open
Dynamic 2-way: Advanced, Open
Dynamic 4-way: Speed only
Freestyle: Intermediate, Open
Freestyle Junior: Intermediate, Open
iFLY Virginia Beach is offering bookable $700/hr rate to all registered competitors, from now until the competition. Training camps with Tom Baker, Jay Veenendaal, and Arizona Airspeed are all in the works, with more details to be announced shortly. Follow the event Facebook page to stay up-to-date.
The competition begins Saturday morning, April 22nd. All events will include by Sunday April 23rd at 1pm with an awards ceremony to follow at a nearby restaurant.
iFLY Virginia Beach opened in early 2015. It is a 14’ 3-story building complete with open 360* flight deck, 2 large team rooms, and showers. An abundant array of restaurants, hotels, and shopping are within walking distance. Not to mention, the beach is just one block away.
