WS Progression 2: Les sorties
Nous planifions l'ordre de sortie pour une bonne exécution du plan de chaque groupe...
Static head down is alive and well in Europe. Not only are the tryouts happening and the Golden Tickets being given out ahead of the World Record attempts this August in Chicago, but there's a new head down bigway camp that's making a name for itself…
…The LSD Bigway HeadDown Camps – a recurring headdown bigway event running every two months in Europe.
Already gearing up for its third camp in April, this event is focused on learning bigway skills and working on progressing the levels and weak points of all participants. Progression is key.
Event creators, Yuliana Georgieva and Alethia Austin, came up with the LSD Camps for selfish reasons.
After speaking to a girlfriend, Pomme, about her experience at the Women's Vertical Record, I was set on flying in the next one. I'm based at Skydive Spain and Skydive Algarve and jump a lot, but it's hard to find a lot of opportunities to fly head down in big groups, which is exactly what I need to train. Yuliana has similar goals and suggested we create an event to serve our own needs of flying bigways. And within a few days, we'd had the name, the date, the dropzone and our first participants.
The camp is for anyone who can fly safely in a group of 15. And the intention of each camp is to work up to a two plane formation with 30 people in the sky. An easy thing to do when you're flying from 15k feet at Skydive Spain with their choice of any two of their 6 Dornier G92 aircraft.
Coaches so far have included Luis Adolfo Lopez-Mendez, Ryan Risberg, Ally Milne and Marie Sjodin. More coaches added to the future events. Registration is 150 euros for the entire camp and the camp runs Friday-Sunday.
