Coping with Competition
Using competition butterflies to make your performance better, not worse...
We started the day with a smooth 3-point 43-way formation which was calm, disciplined and flew beautifully. It was just what we needed to set the positive vibe for the rest of the day as Guy gradually made the sequential points more difficult on every jump, including helixes and all sorts of other crazy shapes!
At times the weather tested us but thanks to some big blue holes and excellent spotting, it didn't stop us making six awesome jumps! However the clouds did roll in later in the day before we had a chance to build the signature dive. But we have dirt dived the “beast” and everyone knows their slot so we are ready to smash it tomorrow!
For some reason my landings have been embarrassingly bad today and I have managed to land in two bushes (probably the only two on the airfield!), earning myself the nickname, “Bushwhacker”… I better work on my canopy control tomorrow ;)
We have had our team meal this evening with speeches, toasts and even bagpipes(!) Over dinner we realised our group is comprised of ten different nationalities with the furthest travelled from Australia for the event - amazing!
Tomorrow is the day and we're going to nail Guy's signature dive!
