From Skydiving to BASE
If you wannabe a BASE jumper here are load of ideas to work at in skydiving...
NYC Freedom Tower BASE Jump – Video from helmet camera of ironworker James Brady. James was on the team of that completed the spire, making it the tallest building in New York. He later sneaked back and base jumped it, with a couple of well chosen friends. Fair Play!
Brady was following tradition. In 1974, tightrope walker Philippe Petit became a kind of hero after walking a high wire between the twin towers. Now that the towers are gone and the single spire has risen in their place that's not possible but it could be argued that James Brady and co are the modern day equivalent.
The base jump went well, all would have been fine were it not for an over-zealous security guard over the road who reported some suspicious activity with large bags. Lengthy detective work and a house search led to James Brady, Marco Markovich and Kyle Hartwell being charged with burglary, reckless endangerment and jumping from a structure. The evidence is the video above, and those of the other two.
With extreme irony the skilled hands that had put in place the last piece of the Freedom Tower were now cuffed behind James, who presumably will be used as an example because of his heinous crime.
