{"id":17027,"date":"2015-08-25T23:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-08-25T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/skydivemag.com\/new\/?p=17027"},"modified":"2015-08-25T23:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-08-25T23:00:00","slug":"2015-08-26-countdown-to-s202","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/2015-08-26-countdown-to-s202\/","title":{"rendered":"COUNTDOWN TO S-202!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/\/709419cc-332d-436e-9d50-6ad253378dd7.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<p>In exactly one month Skydive Perris will be invaded by a few hundred very determined elite skydivers from all over the world&#8230; From the moment the FAI approved the sequentials for the Large Freefall Formations category a 200-plus-way sequential record has become the new Holy Grail in this game.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>There have been three official attempts so far to set this particular record:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>two Fly It Forward events organized by BJ Worth\u2019s World Team in <a href=\"\/article\/20130816-222-fly-it-forward\">April 2013<\/a> and <a href=\"\/article\/222-sequential-final-day\">April 2014<\/a>, both with 222 skydivers<br \/>\nand<\/li>\n<li>the P3 <a href=\"\/article\/world-sequential-wrapup\">World Sequential Series<\/a> organized by P3 Skydiving in December 2013 with 200 skydivers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The participants to these events have more or less experienced it all: joy, laughter, pride, boredom, extreme concentration, honor to meet and work with legends of the sport, shock, tears, sadness, loss, incredible team spirit, friendship, frustration, happiness\u2026 and the list could go on and on and on.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>One thing eluded us though\u2026 the sweet feeling of success\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/\/e1e82fbe-9f96-4e63-87a4-bfb581022374.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>I am expecting the S-202 with trepidation! The amazing organizational \u201cTroika\u201d &#8211; Patrick Passe, Dieter Kirsch and Milko Hodgkinson \u2013 has put together what everybody that I talked to agrees is the best team ever to try a 200+ sequential record! <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>They also put together a great line-up of captains: Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld, Lise Nansen, Doug Forth, Alia Veselova, Andrey Barabash, Solly Williams, Herman Landsman and Marco Arrigo.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The organizers are optimistic about the event:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Patrick Passe\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/\/1b019644-5bd5-4d7b-b2a2-b57394cc5a42.jpg\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Milko\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/\/9995b972-8f3e-44f7-ad32-9004601bc8c5.jpg\"><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Patrick, organizer:<\/strong> <em>\u201cWe have a good feeling about S-202. We are very, very happy to work with Skydive Perris. Dan BC has been incredibly helpful. They know how to do this, how to organize this kind of event. We also have a great selection of people. We\u2019ll have no problem getting this record this time!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Milko, organizer:<\/strong> <em>\u201cI believe we\u2019ll have a new World Record! Don\u2019t get me wrong. It\u2019s not going to be easy, it\u2019s going to be hard work. But the standard is very high and, no question about it, we are on a golden streak. Every goal that we set in the last years we managed to \u2018kick its ass\u2019!!<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dieter, organizer:<\/strong> <em>\u201cWe are working with great captains and Skydive Perris has been very supportive. But it\u2019s always the selection of the team that defines the chances of success\u2026 Bigways are always a challenge and this is not going to be easy, but I am positive we\u2019ll do it!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dan BC, Manager of Skydive Perris, and Plane Captain<\/strong> <em>&#8220;All of us at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skydiveperris.com\">Skydive Perris<\/a> are very excited to have the S202 here.  Patrick and I have been friends for many years and it has been a pleasure to work with him on this project. Do you want to start sweating now??!! Just some of the names in the Alpha team: Victor Kravtsov, Tom Jenkins, Lesley Gale, Larry Henderson, Pal Bergen, Polo, Sian Stokes, Maria Russell, Andy Pook \u2013 plus and other superstars like Perris Prim8 \u2026<br \/>\nYes, I know, I used the F-word, too!! <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I can only say nobody will want a bad day, or a bad jump for that matter, at this event.
