The seat was suspended from a hot-air balloon by 125m of rope in the Austrian sky.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>In a tribute to their favorite childhood game, Dominic Roithmair, Georg Lettner, Marco Waltenspiel and Marco F\u00fcrst rode the \u201cmegaswing\u2019, achieving what could be the longest swing in the world. (The World Record approval process is currently ongoing.)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>One balloon served as an anchor for the swing, while the four skydivers jumped from a second balloon, both placed at heights between 1,500 and 2,000m. Hot-air balloons were the ideal aircraft for this trick. Piloting them required a huge amount of experience; hence they turned to Austrian experts from Skydive Pink Klatovy. After intensive planning and preparation, the crew did a test run in superb weather conditions. After a few attempts, they pulled off the perfect swing \u2013 with a length of 125m!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Lovin it! \u2013 Marco Fuerst&#13;\n&#13;\n\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/\/0f1c6fe5-7df6-4fe8-8c02-c04cb14a18df.jpg\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Marco Fuerst launching&#13;\n&#13;\n\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/\/3eeeded8-c3b8-4cb7-8143-f806537f2ff5.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEveryone knows what it\u2019s like on the swing at the playground,\u201d<\/em> said Marco. <em>\u201cYou swing as hard as you can and jump off. We wanted to do the same, but on a much bigger scale.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s all about the right timing and jumping. After the swing it\u2019s quiet until the noise starts again. We\u2019ve fulfilled our childhood dreams of going on a giant swing!\u00a0_<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>You accelerate in a completely different direction to what you get in normal base or parachute jumping. I can\u2019t recall any freefall that has such different patterns of movement. You jump down, fall and wait for the moment when the pressure kicks in.
