{"id":18003,"date":"2018-04-22T23:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-22T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/skydivemag.com\/new\/?p=18003"},"modified":"2018-04-22T23:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-04-22T23:00:00","slug":"2018-04-23-new-mexican-record-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/2018-04-23-new-mexican-record-1\/","title":{"rendered":"New Mexican Record!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>This Tuesday, April 17th 2018 history was written in the sky in Huztililla, Morelos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Mexican Record 49-way\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/\/936ac863-4be8-4fd0-a33e-afedfc88cb33.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>At 2pm over Skydive Cuautla, 49 skydivers jumped simultaneously from three planes at 16,000 ft high and made the largest formation ever built in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>After several months where they kept practicing and preparing, the team set up a date for Sunday April 15 to start the challenge. The captains: Antonio Monta\u00f1o, Sergio Alfonso Saavedra, Alejandro Novoa, and Eduardo Correa were in charge to lead the team towards the goal.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The organizers did a fantastic job leading the record team\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/\/bf0eddc9-c8fb-4b5f-8320-66d4bfa2e506.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>On Monday, April 16, there were 5 attempt jumps but the formation didn\u2019t get completed. After a series of adjustments, the team managed to get in total synchrony. On the third jump, this Tuesday, the sky vibrated and they all achieved that long-awaited connection, and that was how they established a new National Skydiving Record!!<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This was a significant achievement as it bettered the <a href=\"https:\/\/skydivemag.smallteaser.com\/article\/new-mexican-record\">previous Mexican record of 40<\/a> by almost a quarter!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/266092194\">Mexican 49-way National Record<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to highlight the great effort that skydivers, captains and organizers made during the long training time, because with that discipline and dedication they made it possible for this great goal. So does the infrastructure and safety of Skydive Cuautla being the venue for this historical event.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The mexican sport is on celebration and with great pride this record is dedicated to our beloved Ussy.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"The happy record-breaking team\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/\/a2a56d80-bb2f-4127-82ed-242b20caf104.jpg\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Karin Monta\u00f1o (center), daughter of Antonio Monta\u00f1o and Karin Anzures (pictured), who were all on the record together\" src=\"https:\/\/www.skydivemag.com\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/\/c6e45c0c-4ffb-4b7c-8992-65e93e8a7cee.jpeg\"><\/p>\n<h3>Congratulations Karin!<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Karin Monta\u00f1o, the daughter of Antonio Monta\u00f1o DZO of Skydive Cuautla and Karin Anzures DZO of Skydive Puerto Rico, was one of the record-breakers. She\u2019s just 16 year old and 150 jumps, maybe one of the youngest skydivers holding a record already. She had a special waiver by USPA to be able to jump in Puerto Rico, USA, where she lives with her mother.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Karincita started to jump when she was 3 years old with her father, and she made 50 tandem jumps before she was 15 years old.
