##Tent City Boogie
The Tent City Boogie flowed without a hitch and was extremely professionally organised by Lou Joyce. Lots of achievements happened during the week as well as BBQs almost every night and a bike ride Pub crawl on the Friday night with more than 25 happy cyclists!! Interestingly not all of the bikes made it back that evening!! … but after checking police records we are happy to announce that all participants are accounted for.
Tracking dives, rodeos, hybrids, tubes and many more fun skydives were made over the week and lots of firsts racked up many drinks at the bar! Also nice to see the ‘Amigos’ tent decked out as a saloon bar! The week culminated with the obligatory fancy dress party and the theme was ‘Dead Celebrities’. All in all a very successful week and everyone is really looking forward to next year’s event.
##Queen Alexandra Hospital Home
Rory Underwood made an appearance at the DZ to do a Tandem skydive in aid of the Queen Alexandra Hospital Home and performed admirably, even getting a comment from Meggy that he actually wasn’t as bad as he thought he was going to be. A rare compliment indeed!
with a quick turn of a screwdriver he removed his false leg and came in well under weight!
It was touch and go with one of the other participants as he weighed in a good 4 kilos over the limit – but with a quick turn of a screwdriver he removed his false leg and came in well under weight!! Massive congratulations to Ed Blakey for getting him down safe and sound.
##Beyond the Hedges
Beyond the Hedges continue to keep qualifying students at an alarming rate with some fantastic scores on the FS dives. Long gone are the days where a ‘scraped’ 4th point would get you through as Beyond the Hedges continue to push the boundaries of achievement. A hearty and well deserved congratulations must go to all the Instructors and Coaches who give a massive amount of time and effort on a weekly basis.
##COMING SOON – Canopy Courses!
Hinton Skydiving is pleased to announce that we are in negotiation with Matt Fogarty from “The Canopy School” to do a number of canopy courses here. Details will be announced as they are confirmed but please feel free to keep checking at The Canopy School
##And Finally
Please keep updating the list on the Club notice board and if you have any photos then feel free to send them or give them to us on a memory stick.
