Join Axel’s memorial skydive anywhere in the world to send a message of love and hope…

Axel, Yoko and daughters Luna (9 years old) and Lia (5)

Please join the world peace human bodyflight movement for Axel Zohmann, run by Yoko Okazaki and friends around the globe. Different groups in various countries are organizing an international celebration of Axel’s life, and sending a message to promote world peace.

“We’ve been hoping to host a ‘World Peace Skydive’ since forever but never had a chance yet. We’d like to send out the message that the world will be more caring and kind when each of us accepts our differences and has compassion for each other. “Yoko Okazaki

Make a sign to join the World Peace jump for Axel and Yoko

Joining is simple

1. Take a picture of the flyers with a paper saying “World peace skydive/Indoor skydive by AXIS21, by Axel and Yoko”… and end the video with the names of the participants with their nationality, preferably as many countries as possible. Each jumper could hold their own national flag – or just draw it on the paper.

2. Make a jump with white sand… Or… Fly in the tunnel with colored water, or lighting. (Of course check with the tunnel first!!)

Flyers to include their country to symbolize the union of these nations in peace

3. Post the video on the Axis21 Facebook page. Axis21 is the freestyle/freefly team of Axel and Yoko, many times world champions and on the international podium, and coaching countless teams and individuals worldwide. So it is perfect to use Axis 21’s Facebook page to share the videos and photos, sending a message of support, love, peace and unity around the world.

4. Memorial jumps start from 18th November 2017 and will be uploaded on the internet to the world by November 22nd. People can make one jump or one tunnel flight. The page will stay open as long as people are still flying and contributing.

You can also make a world peace tunnel flight – photo shows Axel (black suit), flying 4-way dynamic

So far 20 dive organizers are involved around the world, and this is only the beginning! It started some jumps in Utah and Japan, organized by Suzie & Jonny Cocanour (UT), Yasuhiro Kubo (Japan) and his awesome friends.

Axel’s daughter, Luna, 9 years old, is planning to make a skydive to join his memorialWorld Peace jump at a DZ where she is allowed to jump this summer. She is planning to be part of this project in the near future.

Please join a skydive, organize a tunnel flight, create a jump and get involved, for Axel and Yoko. Thank you!

Visit Axis21 Facebook page for more details and how to post your videos.

Sharing your World Peace Jump video

Please upload your files to Yoko’s Dropbox so that we have the original videos. We will share the videos on Axel’s memorial page. And if you want to share on Facebook or Youtube etc. as well, please do that, but please remember to send Yoko the original at:

Axel Zohmann

May 8th 1968 to October 21st, 2017

Forever with us

Axel had an illustrious skydiving career becoming three times World Champion in Freefly with his wife Yoko. He was a multiple head-down World Record holder, a freefly coach, load organizer, and manager of iFLYs all over the world since 2004. Axel began his long career in wind tunnels by operating the Eloy tunnel, then moved to the UK to work at Airkix and help set up the private tunnel in Dubai. He was then tempted to locate there but instead joined iFLY, initially to run the IBA. As the company expanded, his operations experience was put to use, first as Austin GM and then as IBA’s first Regional Manager.

Axel was a great communicator, well known all around the world for his easy-going manner, ability to get on with everyone, and his genuine, caring nature. He was a strong, loving family man, and leaves behind his wife and teammate Yoko and two daughters, Luna (9) and Lia (5). As you can imagine the family have significant financial needs. iFly have set up a GoFundMe for Yoko and the girls, you can donate HERE.
