African Experience

The first African Skydiving Adventures Boogie is hosted by Billy Sharman who knows what beauty South Africa holds and wants to share this experience. Billy Sharman, renowned CP competitor, is DZO of Skydive Pretoria, South Africa’s premier dropzone. He has over 13,000 skydives and has been in the sport for over 23 years. Skydive Pretoria has been running nonstop for the last 50 years and hosted the World Cup of Canopy Piloting in 2019, and 2024.

Their PAC 750 XL aircraft whisks 12 skydivers to altitude in 16 minutes, was specifically designed as for skydiving, with a short take-off and landing capability and easily operates in hot, humid conditions. The weather in March is traditionally between 17 and 28 degrees, with cold, clear nights and warm days.

The boogie was created with the idea of comfort, not having to lift a finger… well, except for deploying and landing your canopy! No need to drive anywhere, shop for food, prepare meals or make the bed, this is luxury skydiving in a stunning location. It’s an ideal event to take a non-jumping partner or friend, with plenty to do and see for everyone.  Tandem jumps with handcam are offered for any of the non-skydiving partners who’d like to see what all the fuss is about.

Mongena Bush Lodge

Meet: Andrea Koekemoer

A mommy of (almost) 2 boys (the second one due in March 24, the first day of the first African Adventure boogie!).
I grew up at the dropzone where my dad started skydiving when I was little. I started skydiving in 2018 after my husband got addicted to the sport. I was bored of sitting at the dropzone watching all the fun happen. Soon after my dad also got hooked again! He's still jumping most weekends.

I did just under 300 jumps until I found out I was pregnant with our first baby boy in 2022. I chose to stop skydiving until we know our little family is complete.

I still hang around the dropzone a lot to support my awesome husband who is soon to reach his 1,000 jump mark and just competed in the World Cup of Canopy Piloting and Freestyle 2024 at Skydive Pretoria!

Hoping our little boy gets into the sport as well as he absolutely loves skydiving and even more so the planes!
