Fifty-four of the top wing suiters gathered in Dashanbao, China this past September to compete for a greater cause…

Wings for Love raises money for orphaned children from the 2014 Ludian Earthquake.  On August 4, 2014 a devastating earthquake hit the Ludian county, Yunnan province, China.  This earthquake of 6.1 magnitude killed nearly 600 people and destroyed 80,000 homes.  The goal of these visiting athletes was to raise money for the local orphaned children’s higher education.  This year, a second fund was set up for families of BASE jumpers that have passed away.

The Wings for Love 2016 World Cup was a friendly competition displaying safe mountain flying with efficiency, accurate canopy skills in a beautiful big wall environment all in the name of fundraising.  The event is hosted by Xukai of China and Miles Daisher, with safety checks and assistant organizing by Robert Pecnik.  Eighteen teams of three (team China with two competitors and Team Russia with four competitors) competed in the event.  There were three events scored during the competition: Team Video, Team Speed and Parachute Landing Accuracy.
