British Skydiving orders immediate grounding of all Aerodyne ICON containers at British Skydiving–affiliated dropzones

British Skydiving issued Safety Notice SN-01/26 on 10 April 2026 following a fatal incident at one of its affiliated Parachute Training Organisations.

All Aerodyne ICON container systems are currently grounded at British Skydiving–affiliated PTOs until further notice. British Skydiving is in contact with the manufacturer and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

United States Parachute Association advises members intending to jump in the United Kingdom to be aware of this notice and is in communication with British Skydiving and the Parachute Industry Association.

PIA stated the grounding is a precautionary measure and that its committees are monitoring the situation. It has also asked ICON owners and riggers who are not jumping their systems to keep reserve containers closed so pack jobs can be preserved for possible evaluation.
