A Class A Wind Tunnel Instructor Course is taking place at Windoor, Empuriabrava, in September 2023. If you’ve ever dreamed of becoming an expert in wind tunnel flying, becoming an instructor is the key to making it a reality.

You will enhance your flying skills and be able to share your passion for indoor skydiving by teaching others to control the air. In this article, we’ll provide you with all the information you need to know to become a certified wind tunnel instructor with Windoor, Empuriabrava and TunnelInstructor (TI).

What is Tunnel Instructor? 

Tunnel Instructor is a nongovernmental organization established to make wind tunnel flying safer and more enjoyable. Its main function is to set standards for organization, development, and safety in tunnel operation and management, as well as provide training to new instructors and examiners. 

The goals of Tunnel Instructor are to ensure that tunnel staff are properly qualified according to best practices, flight development, and safety, and also to serve as an educational entity.

All the materials and flight methods of Tunnel Instructor are based on the best shared techniques. These have been developed and improved over the years by its partners and members, ensuring that they stay at the forefront of flight skills, as well as doing so with safe methods.

Class A Instructor Course: 

A Class A course can be your passport to the world of indoor flying. The Wind Tunnel Instructor Course is a unique opportunity for those who want to become professionals in indoor skydiving. Previous experience is not necessary to take the course as it is designed for beginners and adapted to different skill levels. This course will provide the participant with the necessary skills and knowledge to become a certified Class A wind tunnel instructor endorsed by Tunnel Instructor. 

During the course, you will learn the theoretical and practical fundamentals of wind tunnel flying, including basic aerodynamics, advanced flying techniques, tunnel safety, and teaching skills. The course combines ground school classes, practical sessions in the wind tunnel, and assessments to ensure you gain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of wind tunnel fly.

Practical Information 

The course will take place during 18-30 September 2023, at Windoor Empuriabrava in Spain, under the organization of Chief-Examiner Jonas Krasa.

The course fee is 6,995€ (taxes included) and includes:

  • 10 hours tunnel time of training (minimum)
  • Coaching by Jonas Krasa
  • Digital teaching material 

To ensure personalized attention and maximize the course’s benefits for all participants, slots are limited to 10 people.

Meet: Paulinha Santos

Paulinha is a Brazilian living in Spain for over 20 years. She made her first jump in 2001 at the age of 19, never having been on a plane before. Since then, skydiving has become the center of her life. She has dedicated her time in the sport to improving her skills in formation skydiving and big ways, achieving over 12 Spanish records in this discipline.
In 2017, she created the blog Vivir en las Nubes (Living in the Clouds) , becoming a reference for skydiving and wind tunnel information in the Spanish-speaking world. Through her blog, she has shared valuable information and experiences related to skydiving, inspiring other enthusiasts to pursue their passions in the sky.
She has created and organized the #SafeX event three times, the largest skydiving and wind tunnel safety event in Madrid.
In 2020, she founded the FS 4way Mamma Mia team, the first in Spain composed of mothers, with the purpose of promoting the participation and empowerment of mums within and outside the sport.
Through skydiving, she seeks to inspire women to overcome barriers and achieve their personal goals as a Life Changer, while also professionally dedicating herself to social media by collaborating with drop zones and wind tunnels, sharing relevant information and promoting the skydiving community. She also acts as a formation skydiving Coach for beginner skydivers, which is something she is passionate about.
