World Champions Greg Crozier and Karine Joly from Airwax Freefly Team were among the skydivers to have the privilege to jump over the famous archaeological site of Chichén Itzá for the first time in history!

Chichén Itzá is one of the seven wonders of the world! It’s an incredible archeological site located in Yucatán México and, also, was one of the largest Mayan cities.
This great mystical city is considered to have had the most diverse population in the Mayan world, a factor that could have contributed to the variety of architectural styles at the site. Chichén Itzá is one of the most visited archeological sites in Mexico and the world. It is a marvelous site that shows us how the Mayans were ahead of the times. Chichén Itzá continues to be a symbol of perseverance and power.

Now you can jump in México with stunning views of Chichén Itza! The organisers, Skydive Maya, are now giving a new change for breathtaking views to skydivers, with the opportunity to spot Chichén Itzá from above, something that has never been done before!
Recently we had the pleasure to perform beautiful and stunning jumps with the Airwax Freefly Team and their photographer Ewan Cowie. As you may know, they’re Freefly World Champions and World Cup winners, 30 competitions / 30 podiums, 16 gold medals, 4 x World Class Champions, 4 x World Record Holders, 4 x French National Champions, 2 x Medal of Honor of “Ministère des Sports”.

The event began with a ceremony of Mayan warriors asking for authorization to Aluxes and the four cardinal points for us to perform the jumps and asking for their protection and safety while they were performed.

The jumps were spectacular as you can see. This new location is the start of a phenomenal experience for skydivers at Skydive Maya and we can’t wait to share this with the world!
I am so happy and I feel so grateful for the chance to do The First Skydive over the most beautiful Mayan pyramid – Chichén Itzá
