Regan Tetlow interviews Gulcin Gilbert, an incredible woman with a magic spirit
Regan talks to Gulcin about her professional and skydiving journey and finds out what are her plans now that she retired from American Airlines after 23 years.
About my recent retirement as a commercial pilot?… I’m in denial, total denial, I’m just on vacation right now. But I have NOT retired from flying,
just from American Airlines
Gulcin Gilbert
Gulcin started skydiving in 1976 and she started flying planes the same year. She got her license in 1977, was a private pilot for 10 years and began flying skydivers in 1987. This was just the start of an incredible journey that took her all over the world and got her many big-way world records.
Jump for the Cause women’s skydiving events were the ones that she remembers most fondly – charitable events for breast cancer research and care that were organized at Skydive Perris, California.
Enjoy her story, she’s one in a million!
